OUR TEAM
For first time clients, please email katohareart@gmail.com before moving forward with booking! Kat O'Hare is a skilled tattoo artist with expertise in fineline and blackwork styles. Alongside her work as an artist, Kat holds a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and works part-time as a therapist. She brings a feminist and trauma-informed approach to her practice, recognizing the connection between body reclamation, autonomy, and radical self-love. During tattoo appointments, Kat draws upon her trauma-informed training to ensure a safe and healing experience for her clients, acknowledging the potential for deep emotional reactions and transformation through the pain of the process. Kat offers specialized services for individuals with higher therapeutic needs, available through the "therapeutic tattoo" listing. These services are designed for those with self-harm scars, body dysmorphia, top surgery scars, or a history of PTSD or trauma. The goal is to provide a more comfortable and empowering experience during your tattoo session. Before a therapeutic tattoo appointment, Kat will meet with you to discuss any details you'd like to share, potential triggers, and create a plan to ensure your comfort. This may include options such as having the studio to yourselves outside of regular hours, using a private room, allowing food during the session, walking through the space beforehand, or sending artwork in advance. Kat is committed to accommodating any specific needs or requests to help make your experience as comfortable as possible. Kat has been featured in the Boston Globe and the PubHealth Podcast for her work as a trauma informed tattooer.
